MEASURING YOUR WALLS FOR WALLPAPER

Gather together:

  • a measuring tape
  • something to stand on
  • a friend (not essential, but nice to have)
  • something to jot down your numbers

Measure the height of your walls, bearing in mind that ceilings and floors are often not quite at 90 degrees to one another, so the heights may vary slightly across the room.  If your installation space contains different wall heights, we recommend ordering all your rolls to accommodate the longest wall height, meaning even longer than the wall itself.  You may need to move to panel up or down on the wall to make the pattern repeat successfully. Trying to match up rolls of different lengths sound like a good idea but ends up pretty tricky, so best to choose one length and stick to it.

Now measure the width of each wall to be covered and add up the total width. If there are doors and windows, don’t subtract from your total, just ignore them since you might find you need some extra to accommodate them anyway.

Each roll of our peel and stick paper is 25 inches wide, allowing the pattern to repeat every 2 feet with a 1 inch overlap.  Divide the total into by 24” to find how many panels you need to cover the area.

Its a good idea to make sure you have a bit more than what you need.  You'll probably need it all, but any you don't use can always be used to cover notebooks, cut into stickers for kids or framed as artwork - get creative!
